Content self vs emotional self

Are you just some facts in your brain? Do we understand how to develop learned emotions like empathy? What part does emotion play?

Lots of crucial social skills are developed when we are young. At 12 years old game theory and complex social interactions begin as the last development phase of a child’s brain.

After this more complex personality constructs develop. Not necessarily anything to do with the parents. If you think about it the formation and solidification of brain structures takes place from home mostly. Yes you meet at the diner table, but you each do things that have usually nothing to do with eachother and the question of how was your day usually ends in a dud. You know, the polite answer.

Emotionally in any phase of life we stay in a child state. It is our cognition and content an associations that deepen. But essentially in terms of what we feel emotionally becomes more and more distant as the complexity of our content grows.

Emotional wellbeing is extremely important in development of children. In adults emotion becomes entangled into rigid brain structures and the quality of the foundation of emotional wellbeing determines how to relate to the world and others.
