Spirituality as what it does, functionally, has become the veil in front of the soul. The illusion that you have a soul, personally that needs to be saved.
This is the core idea that rules the entire spiritual world. The individualised soul, like a marketing idea. Much of this has to do with intelligence and the understanding that it is not something on itself. The dynamics of the soul are symbiotic.
The second part that comes out of the cores idea of the individual soul, is the soul mate idea. That you are incomplete and need this other soul to complete. I am not looking at it from a perspective of right or wrong, I am looking from the perspective of what the effect of it is. What an idea, a program, a belief does to the human psyche. What kind of behaviour it produces.
You see the difference? Not looking at if there is a soul or not, but purely at what the construct and belief of a soul does to the psyche and health and that of others that reciprocate it.
Like the riverbed. Like the generations that came before you, your legacy is where you are flowing in. And instead of it as a individual thing it becomes different streams of meaning depending on race and the specialities that grew out of them. The river is not just a point going down, it is the entire connection from the source.
The recognition of meaning of your being in the whole is your soul. A loop of sorts, like a circuit(like the symbol “&“. A organic circuit. And although the analogue of a river fits nicely it does only partly describe and not completely explain its function as is the case with all analogues. It is not an exact diagram.
It is not possible to define a soul as it is only the part that is the potential combined with a human beings perceptive ability to read it. Like a sense of what you “should” be doing, right? A fitting into the bigger picture? So say that picture isn’t fixed? And it is more as a constant scribing and configuring.
I am talking of the appliance of yourself through recognition of the symbiosis (like the symbol “%“). Where you come from, and from that being able to see what you already are so that you can recognise not only what you have but to distinguish that from what is beneficial as growth for yourself in the whole which is not the same as for the whole but becomes a new being in a sense as you are weaving into a dynamic whole with insight – to learn the complementary things for you individually towards what is already here.
And this is more like a field then a path. Not a set thing in stone, but a range of possibilities. So in a sense real freedom, not the freedom that we think – but the seeing in moments that different paths like a branch of a tree.
When you paint, you don’t just mix everything together and start painting – it will just be a mess. You look at what you have and you go, you start over and you look. And so on like that. This process is not searching it is plying. Serious play. Formulating, creating and scraping. The courage to start over and the insight to go on. Not to achieve a perfect thing, but to describe yourself, the movement and the feel of your being. Refining perceptive ability and feel for your self, your receptive ability.
When you cook, you don’t just throw in whatever from some list. Sure you can have a recipe but that is more like a blueprint than a mandatory thing. You taste and you mix much like painting in that regard to explore that sense and develop meaning and the receptive ability for the combination and the mixing of the ingredients. Refining taste and getting a feel for proportions. Tuning and refining your ability to sense.
When you have a garden, you maintain it. You remove and prune plants and improve growth and you also let go where you want it to go. This process of plying the garden, improving it. Not just the aesthetics but also the feel, health and growth. In its totality: beauty.
